The theme of Refugee Week 2024 is ‘Our Home’. To mark this occasion, our current Railings display is Visions of Home, organised by Herts Welcomes Refugees.
Volunteers asked their groups what ‘home’ means to them. You can see the creative results in colourful displays on our Railings outside St Albans Museum + Gallery, upstairs in a 4 minute digital display and at various points through St Albans Museum + Gallery in June.
Herts Welcomes Refugees is a Hertfordshire wide charity with a network of 150 volunteers who work to support refugees and people seeking asylum. Volunteers provide practical support, along with social and creative opportunities to help people express themselves and connect with their new communities.
