These three workshops will allow you to discover new pieces of writing by leading poets and other authors, discuss them and write about your life in response to the original texts.

Led by professional writer, facilitator and Royal Literary Fund Fellow Anna Reynolds, each session will feature reading, writing, listening and discussion, on a different theme each week. Gentle, relaxing, encouraging and supportive, these workshops are designed to help you express yourself as much or as little as you want to, without any fear of the ‘blank page’- you will be responding to the materials brought to each workshop.

Anna is a professional playwright and has written extensively for stage, opera, dance, screen, journalism, short and long fiction.

Previous participants have said:

’One of the best workshops I’ve ever done- opened up a whole new world for me, both the poems and then my own response in writing which really surprised me.’

‘Being read aloud to, as an adult, is incredibly refreshing, and even relaxing. I didn’t realise what a treat this would be!’

‘It was amazing to just write in response to what we had heard and then discussed, and I think I got as much from listening to other people’s thoughts and writing as I did from my own. What a lovely concept.’

Life Writing sessions are available on the following dates at St Albans Museum + Gallery:
