Almost 60 years after they were last used to house prisoners the cells underneath St Albans Museum + Gallery are being taken over by a project working with people on probation and Probation Practitioners.

During creative workshops participants have created an installation and art works thinking about the transition from prison to the outside world.

Inside-Outside is a creative well-being project delivered through a partnership between the Probation Service and the NHS.  Through a series of creative workshops, the project provides a supportive space for those who have left the prison service often with complex mental health needs, and the Probation Practitioners working with them.  The project aims to explore wellbeing, coping strategies and re-integration into society, whilst also increasing awareness in society of the needs of people on probation and the often little known about role of the Probation Service.
