Voice volunteers wanted – Voicing Verulamium
St Albans Museums are looking for local people interested in helping create audio recordings. We are also looking for volunteers who would like to help make our museum more accessible by recording audio versions of the display texts for visitors.
Do you enjoy theatre, creating voiceovers or performing?
Are you interested in the world of audio guides and digital heritage interpretation?
We want to bring the sounds and stories of the Hypocaust (inside the building in the middle of the park) to life, and you could help! We are looking for volunteers to lend their voices to the characters of the hypocaust's past.
We are currently looking to voice six characters, 2 female, 4 male (one a youthful sounding male). If you are interested, please record a short clip* of yourself saying:
“Hello, my name is….” and a few sentences about a hobby you enjoy or your pet etc.
Then email the clip to VoicingVerulamium@gmail.com by Thursday 3 October 2024. We will be in contact on Friday 4 October to let you know if you have been selected.
Recording will take place at Verulamium Museum between Monday 7 October and Saturday 12 October 2024 during Museum opening hours.
*This can be a simple voice note on your mobile phone.
