As part of our community activity for the upcoming temporary exhibition 'Generations: Stories from South Asian St Albans', this dance project will explore storytelling through various South Asian dance forms.

These three sessions are free and open to anyone with a 'South Asian St Albans' connection. All genders and all abilities (including absolute beginners) are welcome. Young people from age 10 upwards can attend but they will need to be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited so booking is required.

The sessions will take place at St Albans Museum + Gallery on the following dates, and you will need to be available for all three:

Saturday 17th May 10.30 - 1pm

Saturday 24th May 10.30 - 1pm

Saturday 31st May 10.30 - 1pm

Meera Vinay is a local dancer and expert in Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form. She will be guiding the group through an exploration of various dance techniques and devising a choreographed piece. On the third session, a performance of the piece will be filmed by local filmmaker Nicky Jeffes. This film will then be displayed as part of the temporary exhibition, celebrating our amazing local communities!
