In an attempt to understand the contradictions between our interior and exterior world, Nina Fraser’s work explores the human relationship with our changing landscape. She uses found materials and an analogue approach – collage, cutting and tearing materials – to create the final artistic outcome.
In Crow and Starling V, the artist evokes the relationship between society and animals – using images of clothing as a symbolic material to cover the head and body of the bird. Scrunched-up Paper is inspired by Cubist artworks and explores three dimensionalities within the two-dimensional plane.
Nina Fraser
Nina Fraser (St. Albans, UK) completed her BA in Textile Art with distinction at Winchester College of Art, UK. From 2015-17 she attended the artist residency program at MArt, in Lisbon. She has been exhibiting her work since 2014.
Her work is represented in institutional and private collections in Portugal, USA, Germany, Australia, Poland and UK. Her collages have been published in magazines and books, including, most recently; "Collage by Women, 50 Essential Contemporary Artists" edited by Promopress, in 2019.

Hertfordshire Open 2020
This artwork was selected for the first Hertfordshire Open Exhibition. The exhibition online galleries are hosted between www.uharts.co.uk and www.stalbansmuseums.org.uk and will be launched in stages throughout April 2020.
Over 180 artists with links to Hertfordshire submitted their work to be part of the inaugural exhibition. Chosen by an independent panel of judges, the exhibition features 80 stunning works by the 50 selected artists, creating an exciting mix of work by established artists alongside emerging talent and first-time exhibitors.
