Ordering Images
You are welcome to download the images on this site for personal use and research, including school project work or family history research. To do so, hover your mouse over the image you wish to save and click the right mouse button. Select the option to save the image and you can save the image to your own computer.
If you wish to publish any of our images or use them commercially, you must apply to St Albans Museums for permission. This includes publication in books, newspapers and magazines and other promotional materials, use on television or film, website use or any other form of transmission.
All images remain copyright of St Albans Museums.
How are image orders supplied?
Once you have ordered an image from us, if the image file is of reasonable size it may be emailed to you. Otherwise, high resolution digital image files can be provided on CD as JPEGs or TIFFs. Please enquire if you require any other file format.
The cost of supplying high resolution digital images on CD is £7 + VAT for the first image, and the £5 + VAT per image for subsequent images on the same CD .
We can also supply archival quality prints of our images for personal use. The charges for this are as follows:
Any size up to A4: £10 + VAT.
Any size up to A3: £20 + VAT.
Image rights.
These prices are currently under review. Please use the form on the left hand side of this page to email the Image Library with any enquiries. Please include as much detail as possible about which image(s) you require and how you intend to use them (e.g. print run, distribution, number of transmissions, duration of use of image, the nature of your project etc.).
Please use the same form to contact us if you are interested in filming or photographing any of our arterfacts or sites.
Can't find what you are looking for? Contact the Image Library: the images currently online represent only a small part of our digital image library, which in itself represents only part of our collections. We endeavour to fulfill all image requests and are happy to discuss your image requirements to help you find what you are looking for.
